Typical Space-Shooter

I've had this "brilliant" idea of making a game that modernizes the old-school (and frankly outdated) formula of Space-Shooter. I have no idea if this has been attempted or not... but this is my take on it, so at the very least it will be somewhat different and, fingers crossed, interesting in a good way.
